As many of you know, I worked in a movie store for a while in PA before we moved here. I watched a ton of movies during that time, but since we've moved I haven't rented very many. Video stores just seem so expensive, and I never feel like stopping by the one close to us. It's not the same chain that I worked in, but it's still weird to be in video stores in general. I don't know why that is, but it is.
Anyway, the DF and I have been talking about joining Netflix for a couple of months, and I decided to sign us up last week. We're on one of the cheaper plans, only 1 movie out at a time, but we can exchange it as many times as we want and we can download movies from the Internet instantly. There's only two of us; we don't need a million movies here at the same time. Anyway, it's $8.99 a month so if we rent or download more than 2 per month I figure we'll be getting our money's worth. The DF hates going to movie theatres because he feels like he's getting ripped off, so we need to catch up on the past year's new releases to begin with. The first movie we've gotten is "I Love You, Man" and it just came in. We haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Next in our queue are "Into the Wild," "Big Fish," "Evening," and "Role Models." They're pretty much in whatever order I came across them on the site. I haven't bothered rearranging. I'll see them all eventually, I figure. We're both fairly patient people when it comes to movies.
I like that Netflix lets me rate movies I've already seen so that it can give me better suggestions for movies I haven't seen. So far I've rated 187 movies; I just rate them as I see them pop up on the screen. Anyway, you might be getting some more movie reviews, how exciting!!

Scavenger Hunt!
A couple of weeks ago for employee appreciation, teams participated in a scavenger hunt one day. At their scheduled time, each team got a list of items they had to take pictures of around the company. Unbeknownst to me, I was one of the clues. Sherri thought she had e-mailed me giving me a heads up, but she must have forgotten. After the first couple of photos, Stacy and I still thought it could be something general that I fit into, like wearing camo, since it was camo day. But after the first 5 teams took my picture, we figured it was just me. My team was last so we finally knew what the deal was at the end of the day. Turns out, the clue was for the person with the least amount of time with the company. Some of the team's photos were uploaded to the shared drive, so I thought I'd post the ones of me here for fun. Oh, and that's not my camo. Stacy's husband is a master sergeant in the air force, and she stole some of his shirts for our team to wear. It was good fun. :-)

New lamp!
This is actually pretty boring, but I have a photo so I'm posting anyway! I've been reading in bed a lot lately, but the lighting in our bedroom is terrible. I didn't have a lamp on my nightstand, so I decided to pick one up. It's 3-way capable, but I only have a 1-way bulb, so I actually have to turn the switch once before it turns on and an extra time to turn it off. Eventually I'll invest in a different bulb. Anyway, here's a pic of the lamp and the random stuff on my nightstand. Yes, that's a picture of the DF and me at prom. It was already in a frame when we moved so I threw it up there. :)

Back to the 80's!!
This week was Employee Appreciation week at work and for fun we got to dress up each day. Most days were pretty basic, like sports day, but today was 80's day!! It was kind of tough to think of what to wear since I was a kid in the 80's and none of those clothes would fit even if I still had them, but Stacy suggested we get some stirrup pants from Old Navy (they're back in, you know!) and I figured something out from there. Everyone had a good time laughing at each other, and one co-worker even had an old banana clip in her hair! Here are some pics!
