Can you guys see the St. Louis post? Whenever I come to the site my Blackberry post is showing. Then I hit "Refresh" and the St. Louis post comes up. What's up with that?

St. Louis!
The DF and I traveled to St. Louis over the weekend with our friends Jessica (college roomie!!) and her husband James (who graduated high school with all of us). I was really excited because since Jessica and I don't live together anymore and I moved away for 2 years it seems like we never get to hang out. James got some Cardinals tickets from someone at work, so we drove over there on Saturday. The Cardinals won, woohoo!, and we saw the Arch and some other sites before turning in at the hotel. Jessica and I gambled on the penny slots at a casino. I think we spent about $10 bucks, but we cashed out over $2, so that's some cheap entertainment! Steven said he would cash us out even if it was a tiny amount. So, we were hoping he'd be laughed at by casino employees, but this casino uses machines to pay out. We were bummed!! It was so awesome to be goofy with Jessica again, although I think James and Steven might have gotten sick of all of the laughing at stories nobody understands. It only matters that she and I know what we're laughing about anyway. :) Here are some pics! I tried to find one with Jessica's eyes open, but she must close her eyes when she laughs - how have I never noticed that? And she and the DF took pictures of each other. He's the dork, not me! (If you have fast Internet or patience, you can click on the pictures for larger ones.)

New Phone!
A few weeks ago, my phone battery pretty much died. When I charged it the phone would only charge for 10 minutes and so I couldn't talk on it for more than about 20 minutes without it dying. It's going on 2 years old (see post about it here), so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Some phones are better than others, and overall that phone was good to me.
Onto the excitement! I got a Blackberry Curve 8310 to replace it! The phone was $300, but we were eligible for $150 in
rebates if we got the data plan. We don't really think we're going to continue the data plan, but we're basically getting 5 months of it for free, and the manager of the store said we can call and cancel it after 6 months. So, it seemed like a good deal to me. The best part of the Blackberry for me (minus the data plan) is the QWERTY keyboard, the calendar, and the memo pad, where I can make permanent list files. I've set one up for my grocery list, and I'll probably set one up for websites I want to remember to check, and so on. This Blackberry has a nice camera too; it has a flash, zoom, and can record video.
Anyway, I've been a frequent visitor to crackberry.com, where I've downloaded cute wallpapers and some ring tones that I've set up for different people who call me. The two songs I'm most proud of are the ones for our parents. When my folks call, it will play Massive Attack's "Teardrop," which is the theme song for House. Get it? House? My parent's house is calling me? I thought it was fun anyway...Along those lines, when the DF's parents call, the phone will play Kanye West and Chris Martin's "Homecoming." I might be enjoying it a little too much.

I'll know not to pre-order next time.
I have such poor patience sometimes it's almost embarrassing. I pre-ordered the new Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series book a few months ago and it finally(!!) came out today. I've been dying for this book to come out since I read the first 8 books after Christmas. My copy didn't come in today, and I was so bummed and anxious to read it that I bought it online and read all 370 page in less than 3 1/2 hours. The worst part is that I'll keep the book when it comes in instead of returning it unopened because I'll reread it 50 times. At least I got a good deal - both books cost $14.97 each, which is under $30 total. I've paid $30 for hardback books, so that makes this okay, right...? And the book was so good, it's hard to regret it now...
Hey, at least I wasn't standing in line at midnight to buy it like someone did with the Harry Potter books, right Katie?
