I'll know not to pre-order next time.

I have such poor patience sometimes it's almost embarrassing. I pre-ordered the new Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series book a few months ago and it finally(!!) came out today. I've been dying for this book to come out since I read the first 8 books after Christmas. My copy didn't come in today, and I was so bummed and anxious to read it that I bought it online and read all 370 page in less than 3 1/2 hours. The worst part is that I'll keep the book when it comes in instead of returning it unopened because I'll reread it 50 times. At least I got a good deal - both books cost $14.97 each, which is under $30 total. I've paid $30 for hardback books, so that makes this okay, right...? And the book was so good, it's hard to regret it now...

Hey, at least I wasn't standing in line at midnight to buy it like someone did with the Harry Potter books, right Katie?

What are the Stackhouse books about? I've never heard of them. Must be great! Do you think they'll be making any movies from them?

They're actually the books that the HBO series True Blood is based on. It's good old vampire stories but much more adult than Twilight. They're lighter than Anne Rice books, though. A nice medium, I suppose. :)

Sounds like something that I'd enjoy! You're right...Anne Rice is a tough read. Ever read any of Patricia Cornwell's books? I love her stuff! :)

I haven't read any of hers, but I've been told that I would like her. Maybe I'll have to check some out from the library. If you'd like to borrow my Sookie books, just let me know, and I'll mail some up to you. The first 7 I have are paperback, so they'd be easy to ship. :)

Thanks Hon! I just may take you up on that. I am so far behind on reading the books that I have here! I need to make reading more of a priority once again... :)
