I feel like a kid again!

Happy Halloween!!

Instead of making her kids' costumes, Katie helped me make mine by cutting and then taping my shirt back together. I don't know if she enjoyed the trade off or not. ; ) Click here to see the inspiration. Stacy is going as the mad scientist and my former boss Roy is going as her monster, like Frankenstein's monster. It should be good fun!!

Edit: Here's a photo of the theme. Roy won scariest costume! :)

He's back!

Phil was over hanging out with the DF last night, and he mentioned that he didn't understand why so many girls were attracted to Michael Phelps, who is by all accounts kind of goofy looking. I asked him if he'd seen the rest of Michael Phelps, which of course he has since he visits my site. So, I thought that I'd post another picture just for Phil. I think he secretly was yearning for more!!
Meanwhile, today I'm heading to a winery with Stacy and some of her friends and later tonight the DF and I are going to her house for the party I mentioned a few days ago. It should be good times. : )

Attack of the killer bee!

Last night the DF and I spotted a bee on our balcony door and immediately freaked out like a couple of dopes. I gave him a newspaper, told him it was his job, and promptly left for the bedroom. (Hey, I sorted laundry in there!) The DF was stalling because the blinds weren't open enough to hit the bee with a clean shot, so I came out to open them. The bee started buzzing around, and I made a mad dash for the bedroom and slammed the door on the DF. He really wanted in, so I opened the door just long enough for him to squeeze in. Of course then we had no idea where the bee was. We snuck back out, and we discovered it on the ceiling next to the entryway. The DF waited for it to crawl onto the wall and tried to hit it. Unfortunately he missed by about a foot...but it was enough to stun the bee, and he was able to smack it down onto the carpet, where he smashed it. And the terror was over! He and I then realized we had just spent about 35 minutes freaking out about a bee. Good times. :)

A Little Bit of Everything

I know, I know, I haven't been posting enough! I promise to be better. I just find that I'm bored writing about my day-to-day life. And if I'm bored, why aren't you bored yet?! Anyway, things are going great for the DF and I. We just drove back from seeing our families this weekend, and I still can't get over how nice it is to just pop in for a visit and pop back up the next day. I might never get over it.

Work is still going really well. I really enjoy my job, and I've become really good friends with the other underwriter on my team, Stacy. She's my personal shopper. We went shopping together a couple of weeks ago, and she did an awesome job helping me buy new work clothes. Now I'm a little trendy, but still look good at work. Very exciting stuff.

The next couple of weeks will be a little busy. This week I need to catch up on laundry, work out in the evenings, and study for the CPCU course I'm taking for work. This weekend, the DF and I are going to a party at my friend Stacy's house. Her daughter just turned 3, and her husband is coming home from military training, where he's been since May. It will be the first time we meet him. Then next week I'm traveling to Arizona for the last time this year. As much as I enjoy traveling, I'll be glad to be done for a little while - this will be my 4th trip in 5 months.

To finish off the update, here's a picture of a spider that my boss built in his yard for his annual weinie roast. He told me that he plans to add eyes, but I'm not sure if he did or not. Anyway, isn't it neat?

Finally, the last photo!

I'm finally posting the last new photo for the apartment! It has taken me forever! Anyway, everyone knows that the DF loves Chicago and would move there forever if given a choice (we're not moving there...), so he was really excited about getting a nice skyline photo for the entry wall. We argued about which one to get because he was obsessed with picking ones with unnatural lighting, with like purple or weird green skies. We agreed on this one. : )

Another new picture

On our honeymoon in Daytona, the DF and I walked to the top of the Ponce De Leon lighthouse, which is the tallest lighthouse in Florida. It was really hot, but we had a great view at the top. When we got back down to the bottom, I took a picture looking back up the spiral staircase. So when the DF was browsing photos to buy for the apartment, he pointed out one that looked almost exactly like the one I took. We put it on the blue wall in the bathroom. I picked out the frame; it kind of looks like wood you'd find on the beach, so I thought it was appropriate.

Edit: Dad mentioned that I should post my original picture for comparison, so here it is! Think I could be a photographer?
