I know it doesn't look like much, but I donated almost 2 bags of clothes today, got rid of some stuff in the office closet, and went through all my shoes. And both of the bookshelves in the book nook are pretty much empty. I always find that if I start a project when it seems too early, it actually ends up being right on time. I'll probably be packing stuff up until the minute I leave and then again when the DF leaves. I grabbed some boxes from the video store today to add to the ones I've been collecting (the DF made fun of me for it then; who's laughing now, DF?!), but we'll need more on top of those. It'll all work out. :D Oh, and we're going to try to recycle those old textbooks. Too bad the DF didn't just sell them back to his undergraduate college after each semester and make some money off of them like everyone else does...

The beginning of the end
Here's the moving effort so far.

Moving right along
I feel like singing that Muppet's song "Moving Right Along" that's on one of those old movies. That's how I feel right now. I'm working on finalizing apartment and job stuff, while doing the usual things like ironing and grocery shopping. I feel like I'm moving along, getting stuff done, but still kind of waiting for things to happen. The DF and I are really excited about moving, but there's so many things to do before then. I'm off tomorrow and the next day, so I'm going to start packing up unused items to get a head start.
Meanwhile, today I work from 3-10. Mike and Emilie are coming over to hang out with the DF, and I'm hoping they'll still be here when I get home. Have a great Monday, everyone!

Exciting things going on!
Wow! This has been one crazy week. It began with the DF destroying his perfect teeth and ended with me employed and finalizing an apartment, after a quick trip to Indy. Oh, and the DF's teeth look pretty good again. A lot for just a few days, huh?
My trip to Indy was a success. I got one official job offer, which I've taken. I wanted to wait out for Farm Bureau, but they said there wouldn't be a decision until at least the end of next week. The company I am going to wanted me right away and made an offer an hour after my interview. Another reason I didn't go with Farm Bureau is that the position would be more processing than insurance. With a title like Life Specialist, it's difficult to know what you're going for. Anyway, I figured that this other company would be a better career move in case I try for an underwriting position with a different company in the future. Farm Bureau did have a gym, though...bummer. And after thinking I'd have to wait until next week to hear from them, they called me today and left a message while I was at work. Typical, but I'm still happy with my decision.
And I found an apartment! The DF and I had some places in mind, but we were a little unsure about the locations, so I was to keep looking. After still not being too impressed, I headed up north to a really nice part of Indy. There I was still not impressed. Finally I said a prayer and stopped in one last place. Lo and behold, it was perfect! It had been remodeled twice recently, so even the "old" remodel has nice appliances and fixtures, and it was in a great area. We had to go a little smaller than we had hoped in order to stay in our price range, but we still have a master bedroom private bath (which the DF wanted), stainless steel appliances, a fireplace, a patio (plus a veranda), and we'll have a view of one of the lakes on the property. Here's a picture of what our kitchen should look like, except ours will be little smaller because this is the 2-bedroom size (we're doing a one bedroom with a smaller study for our office).
Nice, huh? We're really excited about it, and we're definitely going to make this one "home." We already have a design theme in mind, with large photos of cities we've been to being a major element. I'll try to keep you updated as things progress.
And one of the best parts of all of this? Katie, Greg, and co. are moving to the same part of the city! Of course they're looking at huge homes instead of apartments, but that just means more room when I come to visit, which will be often! What more could I ask for? Maybe some ice cream, I suppose...

How many days until we move?
Just can't picture the amount of snow it would take to bury the DF's car? Let me help you.

We left it at Liz and Lindsay's Friday night and didn't get a chance to pick it up until Sunday. Liz warned us that it got plowed in, but we didn't think it would be this covered. Anyway, we've decided we don't need it that badly this week, so we're waiting for the snow to melt a little. We might have it out by the time we move...

Attack of the giant strawberry!
I bought some strawberries earlier this week, and when I opened the container I discovered a humongous strawberry hiding in the bottom. The DF was completely freaked out by it and didn't even want it touching him (roll eyes here), but I cut it up and ate it. It was just fine. He's such a baby. Regardless, here's a picture. The DF had the good idea of putting a penny and another strawberry next to it.

Today I have a second phone interview with one of the insurance companies I'm speaking to. I also have a trip planned to Indy the week after next so that I can do a second interview with the company I wrote about on Wednesday. I'm pretty excited about it all. Hopefully I can schedule some other interviews while I'm there and get something nailed down.
P.S. Happy 26th Birthday, Tommy!! I hope you have a great one!!

Exciting!
I just had a really good interview for an underwriting position with a small/medium sized company in Indy!! I'm pretty excited about it. One of the people who interviewed me said I would be a good fit, so I'm really hoping that's a good sign. They'll contact me with another interview time for next week. Hopefully it goes well!! :D
